2008-11-05: Release v5.0.9
This version focuses on performance optimizations for the SQL engine, SPARQL engine and ODBC and JDBC drivers, and bugfixes in the ODS application suite.
New features include: an Excel mime-type output option in the SPARQL endpoint; triple options bif:contains and transitivity; new RDF-generating cartridges for the Sponger; incorporation of UMBEL lookups into cartridges; support for very large HTTP client requests; a sparql-auth endpoint with digest authentication; initial support for the Ubiquity Firefox plugin.
There are also minor bug-fixes: memory leaks, SPARQL 'select distinct' and various SQL query syntax handling; XHTML and javascript validation and other UI issues in the ODS application suite.
2008-08-27: Release v5.0.8
This version exposes Self-Join optimizations at JDBC Driver level (as was already the case with ODBC). SPARQL engine and SPARQL-BI extension optimizations have been incorporated. The TriG? serialization format for RDF is now supported alongside RDFa, N3, Turtle, and RDF/XML. There are additional Sponger Cartridges for Digg, FriendFeed?, and CrunchBase? and improved graph quality from existing Cartridges (especially Freebase, eBay, Amazon, Google, Yahoo). Improved handling of and bug fixes relating to the SPARQL `OPTIONAL' keyword. There is also a more flexible Mapping service model using the new OAT-based Mapping Control (which also includes a "province" locator); minor fixes include Gem URLs for Atom, RSS, and RDF feeds.
