Virtuoso PL has an extensive library of Internet protocol clients and servers, for example POP3, FTP, NNTP, LDAP client, SMTP client.

The Virtuoso Virtual Database Joins, Replicates, Empowers Heterogeneous SQL and XML Data. Provides transparent XML, ODBC, JDBC, ADO .NET provider, and OLE DB provider access to relational data residing on any ODBC/JDBC accessible DBMS. Relational tables or storge procedures from any database source may be linked into a Virtuoso schema, creating a unified data model with the power of Virtuoso's full suite of Web Services and XML transformation functions.
