Virtuoso Pricing Glossary


  • Product - Indicates the item for which a license is being purchased.
  • Column Store - Indicates whether the additional "Column Store" Module is enabled for the offering.
  • Clustering - Indicates whether the additional "Cluster" Module is enabled for the offering.
  • Connections - Client interface portals, formerly known as Database Server Threads. A configurable number are dedicated to handling HTTP-based client requests; the remainder are available for any other data access mechanism (ODBC, JDBC, OLE DB, ADO.NET, XMLA, etc.).
  • CPUs - The maximum number of Processor Cores which the offering will utilize. On Windows and Linux (and soon on Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX), this is managed by CPU Affinity, so the license may be used on machines with any number of processor cores, but the software will only utilize as many cores as are specified by the license.
    • Note: Mac OS X does not support CPU Affinity, so your license must enable utilization of at least as many processor cores as are physically present in your Mac.
  • License - The duration of the license file on offer, measured from issue date.
  • Operating System (OS) - The Operating Systems for which the offering may be licensed.
  • Operating System Type (OS Type) - The Types (Workstation or Server) of Operating System for which the offering may be licensed.
  • Seats - The number of systems the license can be used on.
  • Client Connection Restrictions - Client connection restriction which specifies the criteria of how a license allows a client to connect to a server.
  • Client Application Restrictions - Client application restriction which specifies the criteria of how a license allows an application to connect to a server.
  • Client Application Connectivity Protocol Restrictions - Client application connectivity protocol restriction which specifies the criteria of how a license allows an application to connect to a server.
  • Linked Data URI - An unique offer Linked Data URI.
  • Offer Code - An unique offer identifier.
  • Offer Valid Until - Date until which the offer is valid.
  • Benefit - Benefit associated with the offered product.
  • Summary - Offer short summary description.
  • Description - Offer detailed description.
  • Special Price - Offer Special Price.
  • Retail Price - Offer Retail Price.
  • Available from - The offer is available for purchase from the following company.
  • Availability - Presents the offer availability i.e. if it is in stock or not.
  • Order - Add the offer into your shopping cart.
